Don’t walk way, run !
This builder doesn't care about people, only profits. My unit at Maverick was delayed many years (well beyond what is reasonable for pandemic delay). The final closing also took much longer than anticipated. When I asked for a simple one week extension for closing due to unforeseen circumstances, I was flat out denied. Other builders allow for this type of exception. Empire doesn't care about it's customers and offers no flexibility even though they caused severe delays and ate into my pockets with a lengthy occupancy period. If only there was a way to give these fraudsters one star! This company is engaged in racketeering and extortion. Took them 6 years to finish Maverick on King, when they finally did and before full release they demanded $4000/month for rent from buyers and this is for a tiny shoe box of 450 sq. feet, that can never be rented for more than $2550! But the racket didn't stop there, now they don't allow owners to rent through agencies/agents of their choice, only through them and only after we pay additional $600 for them to approve the contract. This condo starts construction at 6am. Take a look at the City of Toronto Municipal Code, “Noise Bylaw” The Noise Bylaw (Chapter 591, City of Toronto Municipal Code) permits operation of construction equipment ONLY during Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and no construction noise on Sundays and statutory holidays (amending bylaw 505-2006). Need help on this.
This is by far the noisiest construction site in the area. We’ve been awaken at 7 AM on Christmas Eve by excavators. Zero respect for neighbours or the holiday spirit. We’re all trapped at home listening to their morning drilling. Shame! UPDATE (Jan 11, 2021): Awaken at 6 AM by very loud excavation noises coming from the site. The construction crew could apparently not wait until later. There is unfortunately no respect for residents living nearby and it's been going on for weeks now.
