We’ve been living here for a few months and are really enjoying it overall. The leasing/front desk staff are helpful, the maintenance and cleaning teams are thorough, and the neighbors are friendly. Mark at the front desk truly stands out for how consistently he goes above and beyond. I’m taking off one star for a few minor apartment quirks, such as the small, slow washer/dryer and the shallow kitchen sink. While not dealbreakers, they can make everyday tasks less convenient, especially when you’re home with a toddler and keeping up with cooking and cleaning.
Management is not responsive and neighbors are disruptive. Although the building is decently soundproof, you do hear activity depending on the kinds of neighbors you have. We have neighbors who are OBNOXIOUSLY LOUD. I honestly thought the units were reasonably soundproof after living here over a year, until a new neighbor moved in next door and likes to blast the movies and music they listen to obnoxiously loud. Unfortunately, our bedroom wall is their living room wall. Never had that issue with the previous neighbors until they moved out and the new ones moved in. Except for these folks,…
During the 1.5 years I've lived here, my overall experience has been good, except for the last two months. The staffs are friendly (My family really appreciate your kindness), and I’ve enjoyed the neighbors. However, my family had some negative experiences with the leasing office, and Greystar management team. Regarding our lease termination, we visited the office several times and communicated through emails and phone calls. Despite this, at the end of the month, we received a bill for an additional month's rent (and additional costs: I won't discuss here) because they claimed we hadn't…
We had 6-8 incidents of our kitchen sink backing up over 1.5 years. They were unable to fix it and blamed the previous management. This is not a luxury building, hardly any amenities on site. Many apartments in the buildings have the same issue and yes it does overflow with the dirtiest water possible. The building fundamental plumbing issues. The outside is often dirty and unsafe with strange people loitering around the front doors given the shady bridge situation. The doorman has limited hours. The management is mostly unreachable and incompetent. They don't answer the phone for days or…

Overall I was happy with the two-year living experience here, I have no issue with utility and facility. Although we had once replaced a leaking faucet and they blame me of breaking it, after some argument with the maintenance and management office I was not charged any. I mean sometime you have to communicate for your right. The staff of the building are very nice who you can be friends with. Also I guess I'm lucky to not be bothered by any noise issue. While the apartment is nice (I moved in when the building opened), the rent increased by nearly $2000 in three years, the amenities are sub par- better amenities for similarly priced buildings. Additionally, Newport is one of the worst management companies I have ever dealt with, multiple rent checks were lost, rude staff at the Newport office, and overall high turnover of building managers so you could never get the help you need. I would not recommend this building or any other Newport building.
My fiance and I absolutely love it here! After several months of rigorous research on pretty much every apt complex in the area, we settled on Revetment House, which is probably the best deal in JC. Our one bedroom apt is very spacious, with a large walk-in closet that fits both of our clothes. All the fixtures are new and we love having a washer/dryer/dishwasher in unit. Honestly, the BEST part (and a big selling point for us) is how well insulated the units are. We had a great experience working with Anna and the leasing team here at revetment. Moving can be difficult but the Revetment team has made life easy on us. The building is clean and the staff is always courteous. We love our new home!
