Took us a couple of hours up and back this steep track. Trail in good condition, a bit slippery due to rain so good to have hiking shoes. High socks would have been useful at top too as low brush a bit scratchy. Nice views. A bit of climbing up rock face with attached ropes got heart rate going, but pretty fun.
Took us 2.5 hours return at casual pace with frequent stops for pics The rock climbing in the end was fun. You don't actually need the rope if you are familiar with rock climbing/ bouldering. The rock climbing is very beginner-friendly.
Well worth the treck up the hill, the views were incredible
Scenic out and back hike. Climbing all the way, so a decent work out. Great views over the craters and out to the coast at various points. Groves of low flowering bushes with many butterflies in winter. Path is rooty in parts, narrow in others, and challenging rock climb at the end - up was fine, coming back down with kids was more difficult. Would not do this in the wet.

Nice hike, path is in good condition and easy to follow. Last section scrambling up cliff is the challenging part that makes this a harder hike.
Great views, but it was very tough. Don't do it if it's been raining the last 2-3 days. The forecast didn't look too bad in the morning, and then it was heavily raining the whole afternoon, which made things even wetter and more slippery all the way through. I'm a good average hiker, but this one was quite challenging, to be honest. It's very steep, and there were sections even with ropes. Definitely, I'd recommend starting north to south. In the end, it was a great satisfaction, and ticked the box, but it was a tough one. If you have rain boots, it'd be even better.
Great 2 - 3 hour walk, easy to find. Constant, steady uphill with steep roped section near top which is optional. Great views from many other points. QR codes along the way for a personal guided tour if you have data. Lots of lovely butterflies along path. Highly recommended- Nice way to earn that beer!
Fairly easy hike until you get to the ropes! Only took me about 25 mins to get to the base of the ropes. Even the ropes and climbing part weren’t too difficult going up. Much harder going down. I did not take my kids and would not recommending going up the ropes with kids. Good views up top. I explored around on the top but it’s not really worth going to the “back of the top” since the trail is pretty overgrown. There’s a little view point to the right side showing the needle about 30 seconds from when you reach the top. It’s not really worth going beyond that. I did, but the view didn’t…
