First timers in Montreal and amazed at the variety and quality of restaurants. I’m from Richmond, BC, where we have the best Chinese food but this restaurant exceeds most of the wonton places I’ve been to. The roast pork is crispy and comes with ginger and onion sauce which makes eating pork belly less indulgent! The Cantonese chow mein is tasty and comes with plenty of ingredients. I asked for xtra crispy noodles and it came perfectly. The cup of steamed rice seemed like a bowl. It was overflowing! The 2 ladies serving were hustling and bustling. They were attentive, efficient and friendly!…
This was great, wasn't expecting much honestly, but was craving those Singapore Hawker Centers and it brought me right back. First time I'm having this good of Chinese barbecue in Montreal, both the roasted pork and bbq pork were great. Juicy and flavorful. I'll have to try the duck next time.
Foodie treasure in Chinatown ! Casual dining for locals & tourists alike, and the best roasted meats around. We always have the roast pork, served either in a soup with noodles or on rice. They also have delicious roasted duck and amazing pork char sui. You gotta try this place if you're downtown and need some great food. It's perfect before a show or a walk thru the Quartier des Spectacle.
Dobe & Andy Montreal’s Cantonese BBQ Gem Located in the heart of Montreal’s Chinatown at 1071 Rue Saint-Urbain, Dobe & Andy is a go-to destination for authentic Cantonese barbecue that delivers big flavor at fair prices. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with a gritty, no-frills charm that lets the food take center stage. It's the kind of place where locals and food lovers gather for comforting, hearty meals without any pretension. One of the undeniable stars of the menu is the roast duck. Rich, golden skin that crackles perfectly with every bite, and succulent, juicy meat that falls…

Unassuming Chinese restaurant specialized in BBQ dishes. Tried their signature dish with BBQ duck and chaw main noodles. Very tasty. Credit card accepted.
Updated: 07/04/25 This time around, we actually sat and took the time to dine. Their noodles is something else and this time it was different. Located inside a building, not hard to find. I'm usually in for these type of food for the price and quality. This place, the quality was not there. Ordered the roasted pork/BBQ pork combo. Roasted pork had more fat than meat, the skin was chewy. BBQ pork is usually moist but it was on the dry side, sauce should've been added but zero was added. Young Chow Fried Rice was the only decent part of the experience.
Love this place since day one! Anytime I am around I can't but stop by. The food is the best and affordable. Portions are super generous. The duck and the pork are delicious. A must try!
Dobe & Andy came highly recommended as a must-try spot for Chinese BBQ in Montreal, so we were really looking forward to it—especially coming from Toronto, where great and affordable Chinese BBQ options are everywhere. Unfortunately, it ended up being a big disappointment. When we arrived, it was a bit chaotic and unclear whether we were supposed to line up or just wait to be seated—there wasn’t much direction. Once we got seated and looked at the menu, we noticed the prices were quite high compared to what we’re used to in Toronto. Still, we were hopeful the food would make up for it. But…
