  • The front desk is selective about who they will be polite to. They do not treat all tenants equally. Update: the older woman in the front has also been like this. One would think that as an older person, she would know better.
  • The apartment complex is not that bad. The reviews are a bit biased because of the fire alarm issue that made a lot of people (justifiably) very angry. Some pros (which I think are not advertised) are: -The zone is calm and removed from all the rush of the city. -Bus stop in front for both 52 and 18. And it's the first stop for both, so you can always pick your seat. -It is very close to Sprouts, which makes any last minute grocery shopping very convenient. There is also some nearby restaurants on San Pablo. -There is a weekly Bear Pantry nearby in which you can get free groceries from. -It…
  • It’s 4 a.m. again, and the fire alarm is blaring once more. When I look out the window, people aren’t even angry anymore - they’ve moved past outrage to complete indifference. Nobody cares at this point. And that’s exactly why, if there’s ever a real fire here, so many people will get hurt. Why? Because this place has completely destroyed any sense of urgency or trust with its endless, faulty fire alarms. Haha, you know what? Right after I posted about it yesterday, I think the management actually saw it. Guess what happened? Around 10 p.m., just as I was trying to fall asleep, the damn fire…
  • Okay, I can’t take it anymore. The constant, random fire alarms at all hours have pushed me past my limit. I’m moving out tomorrow. I will be demanding a full refund of my rent. These unpredictable alarms have completely destroyed my ability to live and work here: I’ve lost sleep countless nights, an important interview was completely ruined because the alarm went off in the middle of it, and during a remote exam with only ten minutes left, the alarm went off again, preventing me from finishing the remaining problems properly. I am seriously considering legal action at this point. Enough is…

  • This apt is a disgrace to Berkeley. Another false fire alarm blared at 4 a.m., forcing residents to stand outside in the wind wearing only T-shirts—and each time it happens, the siren screams on for a full 30 minutes. We endure two false alarms a month, always in the middle of the night, despite management’s repeated claims that the system is fixed. My food delivery was stolen, and a police report led nowhere. Fixtures and amenities are the cheapest available and break constantly. The design is problematic — when it rains, the building floods, and rainwater flows into the apartment complex.…
  • First off with the obvious problems: - the fire alarms going off falsely on a regular bases, even multiple times a day from any time like 3 am to 7 pm, they denied it at first but it’s been over 8 months and they keep saying they will fix it but they haven’t. - whenever it rains the inside on the building floods, someone decided it was a great idea not to build closed walls and they have loud fans in attempt to dry them but it’s just a huge waste of electricity in a place that claims to try and save it. - that brings me to my other point of the light switches in the bathroom, they are motion…
  • Fire alarm is crazy. Not enough single rooms even though this is grad housing, and they unilaterally announced that they would accept undergrads. But most of all, if you don’t want to live in a place where you constantly have to live in fear that a fire false alarm will go off even at midnight, please consider other housing.
  • If you live here, you'll be able to hear this gorgeous music from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., or while you're studying and showering. This apartment is the perfect partner for heart surgery because you'll be more likely to have a heart attack.
