The pros of this place are clean restrooms, clean dining area, fast service, and cheap menu. The cons are that the food lacked flavor and it was more oily than necessary. We got the cold noodles (they were out of cucumbers at lunch time) and the fried dumplings. The cold peanut noodles were okay. They were missing something, hard to say what exactly, but the flavor wasn't there. The fried dumplings lacked flavor. They weren't bad, but weren't good. I ordered the shrimp soup dumplings and was disappointed with the shrimp dumpling because there was no soup in them. It was very dry actually and no pieces of shrimp only a shrimp paste . The. Pastry looked perfect but when I bit into them they were dry and thick. I expect a place that specializes in soup dumplings to have exquisite dumpling pastry. When one orders soup dumplings one expects a huge squirt of soup broth which is the whole point of these morsels. A great price for the amount of soup dumplings they give. We got the original Juicy Pork and the Pork and Chives which weren’t bad. If you’re feeling soup dumplings this is a great way to satisfy the craving. Service and interior were decent nothing extraordinary
Very delicious and authentic handmade soup dumplings for a very reasonable price. So much so that you likely will have to wait in line to be seated depending on when you dine here. On this Friday evening we waited 15minutes. Staff is friendly but unfortunately a little scattered this night as the staff seemingly forgot our order as they served patrons who were seated well after my wife and I. It wasn’t until I asked on the status of our order that they realized we had been sitting in limbo for 15 minutes. I assume this was an abnormality and the dumplings made up for it. We love soupy dumplings and have had our share of soup dumplings. It is one of the best. The wrap is thin and the filling is of good portion. The dumplings are juicy and tasty. The cucumber is so flavourful. I am a bit disappointed that the dessert is sold out. This location is in the heart of Chinatown. A small place so a bit cramped and there could be lineup as it appears to be popular.
Amazing lunch spot in Montreal! We had the Juicy Pork & Coriander Dumplings, Beef Teriyaki Dumplings, and the Hot & Sour Cucumber starter, all super tasty and fresh. The beef teriyaki dumplings were our favourite. Service was excellent too; our waiter spoke English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, and was incredibly friendly and helpful. I visited this dumpling spot and had to wait about 25 minutes to get seated, which was a bit long but expected since it was busy. After sitting down, it took another 10 minutes to receive our first dish, the sammi, which was tasty but I wish it came sooner. We had a nice lunch here. We orders to go as we had the dogs with us. We ate at the tables by the temple nearby. The dumplings were great. The ones with crab and the spicy lamb ones were especially good as was the standard pork one. The fried dumplings were also nice to try. We had 5 orders for two of us which was too much. We ended up with about 1.5 left to take home. Outstanding flavor not as crazy hot inside as some I’ve had.
