On the 12th of June, 1902, McPherson & Company commenced a suit by attachment before a justice of the peace against Webb & Stagg, alleging in the affidavit that the defendant was justly indebted to them in the sum of $108.80. The writ was executed by levying it on 10,000 feet of lumber.
The 18th of June was set by the justice for the trial of the cause. On that day, as appears by the return of the justice, the defendants came, and filed an answer to the coffifdaint; set up that the attachment had been issued for the sttm of $108.80; that the record shows that, said sum was the amount involved…
