Appellant Jerry Perez was charged with aggravated robbery and theft. A jury convicted Perez and the court sentenced him to nine years for the robbery and two years for the theft. On appeal Perez raises three issues involving ineffective assistance of trial counsel: (1) counsel had an actual conflict of interest, and the trial court erred by not holding a Garcia hearing; (2) counsel failed to object to the State’s alleged bolstering during its closing argument, and the trial court failed to act sua sponte; and (3) counsel failed to object or request a…
