An indictment was returned in the city court of Alton on September 17, 1927, charging Earl Green, in three counts, with the murder of Otto Roller by shooting him with a revolver on August 29, 1927, thereby inflicting upon him a mortal wound, of which he died on September 1, 1927. The defendant was arraigned on September 21 and entered a plea of not guilty.
