This case presents us with the brutal sexual assault and murder of twelve-year-old Child. Based on those events, Child’s father, Billy Wayne Cope, was convicted of murder, two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct (CSC), *325criminal conspiracy, and unlawful conduct towards a child.1 The court of appeals affirmed Cope’s convictions in State v. Cope, 385 S.C. 274, 684 S.E.2d 177 (Ct.App.2009). We granted certiorari to review the court of appeals’ opinion and now affirm.
