KING, Judge.

The issue presented by this appeal is whether or not the trial court erred in refusing to modify a previous judgment awarding the plaintiff workmen’s compensation benefits for total and permanent disability.

On February 5,1982, International Paper Company (hereinafter defendant) filed a petition, pursuant to LSA-R.S. 23:1331,1 seeking to modify a judgment signed on February 3, 1978, awarding Stephen Dement (hereinafter plaintiff) workmen’s compensation benefits for total and permanent disability.
