Jeremie Glen Tennison, Relator, waived a jury trial on an evading arrest charge. Thirty-six days before he was set for bench trial, Tennison filed a motion to withdraw his waiver of a jury trial. The trial court still had not ruled on Tennison’s motion on the day before his bench trial was set to begin. Tennison filed an emergency stay and mandamus with the Twelfth Court of Appeals, seeking to compel the trial court to hold a hearing on his motion. The emergency stay was denied. He then sought…
