OPINION

The defendant appeals from a Superior Court conviction after a jury trial of robbery and burglary. We reverse and remand for a new trial.

This case arises from the September 17, 1980 robbery and burglary of Mrs. Yolanda Panciera at her home in Narragansett. Mrs. Panciera and her sister, Mrs. Mary Chiarulli, who was visiting her from New York, were watching television and eating dinner in Mrs. Panciera's den when three men entered the Panciera house through the unlocked front door.
