*6 In this product liability action, Mary Sheffield and her mother, SuVanne Fuller, (collectively, "Appellants") sued Conair Corporation, alleging that a Conair model heating pad used by Sheffield caught her mattress on fire and ultimately burned their house to the ground. The complaint alleged that the heating pad contained a design defect and asserted claims under the theories of strict liability, negligence, and failure to warn.
