Defendant Raymond M. Freitas has moved to revoke or amend a pretrial detention order issued by a United States magistrate pursuant to the recently enacted Bail Reform Act of 1984 (“the Bail Act”), Pub.L. No. 98-473, 1984 U.S.Code Cong. & Ad.News (98 Stat.) 1837, 1976 (to be codified at 18 U.S.C. §§ 3141-3151). The defendant is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine in violation of 21 U.S.C. section 841(a)(1), and with conspiracy to commit the above offense in violation of 21 U.S.C. section 846.
