BEACH, J.
The petitioner, Wilton Carraway, appeals from the judgment of the habeas court denying his amended petition for a writ of habeas corpus.1 On appeal, the petitioner claims that the court erred by rejecting his claims that his trial counsel had rendered ineffective assistance by failing to investigate adequately the extent of the victim’s injuries, as documented in his medical records, and to engage an expert witness who could have testified that these injuries might have been caused by something other than a dangerous instrument.
