This is a suit for an injunction in which the plaintiff, Alphonse Peck, a taxpayer and a resident of the City of Lafayette, Parish of Lafayette, seeks to restrain certain officials of this State and the City of New Orleans from carrying out the provisions of Act 84 of 1940, which provides for the use- of mechanical voting machines in elections in the State of Louisiana and makes such use mandatory with respect to the City of New Orleans.
