GUIDRY, Judge.
Jules Carriere brought this suit for damages as a result of a fire on November 12, 1979, in a building owned by him. The suit was instituted against Thomas Olivier, the lessee of the premises in question and State Farm Fire and Casualty Company (hereafter State Farm), Olivier’s insurer. The trial judge rendered judgment in favor of plaintiff and against defendants in the amount of $20,737.29, concluding that the facts of the case warranted the application of res ipsa loquitur.
