SHORES, Justice.
Mozell Gilchrist and Mae Belle Ralph, the plaintiffs, appeal from a judgment entered on a jury verdict for the defendants in an automobile accident case. We affirm.
The accident occurred on the morning of January 10, 1991, on Interstate Highway 65, in the southbound lane, just north of the I-59/1-20 interchange in Birmingham, when the defendant’s vehicle struck the rear of the vehicle in which the plaintiffs were riding.
