Defendant was convicted of third-degree assault in two separate cases. ORS 163.165. He appeals the judgment of conviction entered in each case. In his first two assignments of error on appeal, he contends that the trial court erred “in allowing defense counsel’s motion to withdraw” and “in requiring [him] to proceed to trial without counsel.” We reject those assignments of error without discussion. We write to address defendant’s four remaining assignments of error concerning the trial court’s orders that he pay the unitary assessment in each case before his release from incarceration. For…
