I. Introduction

In this action, which arises from a nonpayment summary proceeding, the plaintiff tenant seeks, inter alia, unspecified damages and declaratory and injunctive relief against the defendant law firm for its alleged violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (15 USC § 1692 et seq. [hereinafter FDCPA]) in connection with its representation of the property owner in the housing court proceeding.
