OPINION OF

THE COURT.

In their bill the complainants set up a claim to a certain tract of land, in possession of the defendants, and to which they claim title; and a decree for the title and possession is prayed. It seems that General Robert Lawson, the ancestor of the complainants, having served in the Virginia continental line in the revolutionary war, received for his services a military warrant No. 1721, for ten thousand acres of land; which, before the 4th June, 1794, was located in the Virginia military district, in this state, in tracts of one thousand acres each; under the following…
