Exceptions before judgment from Jackson. (Peck, J.) Information for seduction. The facts are stated in the opinion.

The respondent was convicted of seducing and debauching one Eena Wilbur, an unmarried woman of the age of 17 years. The court was requested to direct a verdict for the respondent, upon the ground that no offense had been proven. The seduction was alleged to have been accomplished under a- promise of marriage. It is now strenuously urged before us that a verdict of acquittal should have been directed, and that the conviction should be reversed, and the prisoner discharged.
