ROBERTS, J., for the Court.
¶ 1. Following a four-day trial in the Jackson County Circuit Court, Brian Young was found guilty of the murder of Lelie Coleman (Lelie) and given a life sentence in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC). On appeal, the supreme court affirmed Young’s conviction in Young v. State, 891 So.2d 813 (Miss.2005). The supreme court granted Young leave to proceed with his motion for post-conviction relief on January 18, 2006, and he filed his motion on July 31, 2008, in the Circuit Court of Jackson County.
