On December 20, 1929, the plaintiff’s intestate was employed by the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company as a first-class repair man in Easthampton and neighboring towns. On that day, just before five o’clock in the afternoon, he was in the switchboard room on the premises of the defendant, talking with the head electrician of the defendant.
