Bill was indicted for kidnapping and aggravated assault and tried by a jury. The evidence presented at trial established that the seventeen-year-old victim was walking to her car parked in the back parking lot of a shopping center in Columbus, Georgia, when she noticed Bill walking toward her. She testified that after she got in her car Bill opened the door, pointed a knife at her and ordered her to move over or she would be hurt.
