The defendant’s exceptions to the refusal of the ' court to allow him to inquire of the plaintiff on cross-examination in regard to the invoice value of his stock of goods in October, 1875, and whether at the time of the trial he was not bankrupt, and attempting to settle with his creditors at a percentage, are not well taken.
