NICHOLLS, J.

The plaintiff, averring itself to be a corporation organized under the laws of Great Britain, alleged in the petition filed in this case that it was the owner of a paper mill, buildings, and machinery situated on the sugar plantation commonly known as “Orange Grove Plantation,” in the parish of Plaquemines, on the left bank of the Mississippi river, about 16 miles below the city of New Orleans; that said, paper mill, buildings, and machinery were assessed upon the assessment rolls of the parish of Plaquemines for the year 1902 for the sum of $50,000; that,…
