¶ 1. Nancy Downey was convicted of burglary of a dwelling and first-degree arson by a jury in the Circuit Court of the Second Judicial District of Jones County and was given two concurrent twelve-year sentences. Following the denial of Dow-ney’s motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict or for a new trial, she appealed. The Court of Appeals affirmed her convictions and sentences.
