Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Clinton County (Ryan, J.), rendered August 27, 2012, convicting defendant upon his plea of guilty of the crime of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree (two counts).

In satisfaction of a four-count indictment, defendant pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree and purportedly waived his right to appeal. County Court thereafter sentenced defendant, as *1491agreed, to an aggregate prison term of seven years to be followed by two years of postrelease supervision.…
