Austin and G-oodell, appellees, were the president and cashier, respectively, of the Commercial Savings Bank of Tama, Iowa, and they, with the other defendants, constituted the board of directors. On December 31st, 1923, appellees, on the demand of the state superintendent of banking, in writing guaranteed the payment of certain customers’ notes held by the bank, a list of which was attached to the contract.
