SIMONTON, Circuit Judge.

Tbis is a case for the foreclosure of a mortgage given to secure certain notes, evidence of money loaned. The defenses are that the mortgage was given by a married woman for the debt of her husband, and that the contract was usurious. Mrs. E. D. Hartzog, the wife of D. S. Hartzog, owned a tract of land in Barnwell county, inherited through her parents. ' She resided on the land with her husband, who owned no property of his own.
