Following a jury trial, defendant was convicted of felonious driving, MCL 752.191; MSA 28.661, and sentenced to a sixteen- to twenty-four-month prison term. Defendant now appeals as of right and we affirm.

On August 27, 1986, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Detroit Police Officer Raymond Chesney saw a maroon-colored Lincoln disregard a red traffic light. The officer turned on his flashing lights and the driver of the Lincoln appeared to slow down. Officer Chesney then made direct eye contact with the driver of the Lincoln.
