A discharged school official, seeking to recover compensatory and punitive damages from a school district and two of its officers for publicizing false and stigmatizing charges against him, contends that the two officers disseminated the defamatory charges by secretly imparting them to a newspaper reporter and that, as a result, the reporter made open inquiries that resulted in publication of the charges.
