The petitioner alleges that he is a stockholder and director of the City Bank of New Orleans, a corporation esiablish-ed in the said city. That for purposes material to the interests of the institution, and of the public, he is desirous of examining the *488stock ledger of said bank, or the book containing the list of stockholders, and the transfer book, or book containing the transfers of the stock.
