Appellant-Petitioner George Williams was found guilty by a jury in the Marion Superior Court of class B felony robbery. He was sentenced to twenty years imprisonment. This Court affirmed his convietion on direct appeal. Williams v. State, (1982) Ind., 439 N.E.2d 1142. Appellant, pro se, filed a Petition for Post-Conviction *894Relief which subsequently was amended by appointed counsel. The Marion Superior Court denied Appellant's Petition. Appel lant now appeals and raises the following two issues: '

1. whether Appellant was denied the effective assistance of trial counsel; and,
