PRENTICE, Justice.

Following a trial by jury, Defendant (Appellant) was convicted of Battery, a class B misdemeanor, Ind. Code § 85-42-2-1 (Burns 1979) and of Burglary, a class B felony, Ind. Code § 85-48-2-1 (Burns 1979). He was sentenced to consecutive terms of imprisonment of six (6) months and sixteen (16) years.
