¶ 1. Local governments have power to regulate land division under Wxs. Stat. § 236.45 (2005-06). The question presented is whether this statute grants the Town of West Point the authority to temporarily prohibit land division in the entire Town while it develops a comprehensive plan under Wis. Stat. § 66.1001. We, like the circuit court, conclude that the Town has the authority under § 236.45(2) to impose a temporary town-wide prohibition on land division while developing a comprehensive plan.
