The sole issue in this appeal is whether the statutory provisions that allow an employer to terminate workers’ compensation benefits under General Statutes § 31-296 prior to an evidentiary hearing deprive an injured employee of a protected property interest without due process of law in violation of the fourteenth amendment to the United States constitution1 and article first, §§ 82 and 10,3 of the constitution of Connecticut.
