The plaintiff, claiming to be the duly and ■ legally appointed Sheriff of Plaque-mines Parish, to succeed the late Sheriff L. Decomine Dauterive, instituted mandamus and injunction proceedings against Jerome A. Hayes, Supervisor of Public Funds, and Rufus W. Fontenot, Collector of Revenue, in the Ninteenth Judicial District Court for the Parish of East Baton Rouge, to have determined the question of title to the office.
