This is a suit to enjoin the board of public works of the city of Pittsfield from cutting down and removing four public shade trees standing within the limits of the highway in front of land of one of the plaintiffs on West Street in Pittsfield. A public hearing on the removal was held by the board, notices whereof were posted on the trees and in two public places more than seven days prior thereto.
