Jesse Lucas and his mother, Margaret Lucas, were jointly indicted by the grand jury of Wabash county for the murder of Clyde Showalter. They were tried at the April term of the circuit court of said county and found guilty by the jury of murder as charged in the indictment, and their punishment was fixed at imprisonment for the term of their natural lives. A motion for a new trial was sustained as to Margaret Lucas but was overruled as to Jesse Lucas. As to him, the court entered a judgment of guilty and sentenced him to imprisonment for the term of his natural life, in accordance with the…
