OPINION OF THE COURT

White, J.

The police investigation of a series of suspicious fires in Clinton County led to defendant, who willingly accompanied Detective James Leonard to the City of Plattsburgh Police Station. Upon arrival, defendant was placed in an interview room and given his Miranda rights. He then provided Leonard with incriminating oral and written statements. Defendant was arrested and subsequently indicted for various arson-related offenses.
