TOWNSEND, Circuit Judge.

The specification of the Westinghouse patent in suit states its subject-matter as follows:

“The invention relates to the construction of a class of apparatus employed for transforming alternating or intermittent electric currents of any *496required character into currents differing therefrom in certain characteristics. Such apparatus are usually termed ‘induction coils’ or ‘converters.’ ”
