This bill in equity was brought by certain officers of the United Brotherhood of Edison Workers, a voluntary association, hereinafter referred to as the union, in behalf of themselves and all other members of the union,, for specific performance of a written contract dated May 24, 1940, between the union and the defendant, particularly a provision therein whereby the defendant in effect agreed to deduct monthly from the wages of its employees certain amounts in accordance with written assignments executed by these employees and to pay the sums deducted to the union.
