delivered the opinion of the court:

Following a bench trial the defendant, Andrew Reyes, was found guilty of attempted murder and aggravated battery. On appeal, Reyes asserts among other issues that the State has failed to prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

The testimony at trial revealed the following. On the evening of October 11, 1991, witnesses Patricia Mendoza and Rita Mendez attended a party in an alley behind 2616 Broadway in Blue Island, Illinois.
