Thompson, Justice.

John Brice Cormier, Jr. was convicted of malice murder, aggravated assault, and various sexual offenses stemming from the murder of Petra Franklin and the assault on Kesha McBrayer. On appeal, Cormier asserts that he was denied effective assistance of trial counsel. Finding no error, we affirm.

Viewed in favor of the verdict, the evidence showed that Cormier visited the home occupied by the two women victims. During the course of the evening, the women began to dance and Cormier attempted to join in and dance with Franklin. However, Franklin refused to dance with him, and she…
