This is an appeal from a conviction of murder in the first degree with the penalty fixed at life imprisonment.

The revolting and vulgar details of this murder need not be recited as they are contained in the record on file. It will suffice to state that defendant confessed and admitted that he had killed the deceased by striking her on the head with a club, also described as a stick sim ilar to a broom handle.
