The sole question in this ease is when the amount to be raised by local taxation for the annual support of the public schools in.a Chapter 6 school district must have the concurrence of the governing body of the municipality. The statute, B. 8. 18:6 — 53, provides that the amount determined and certified by the Board of School Estimate as necessary for this purpose shall be appropriated and raised by the governing body through inclusion in the local tax ordinance, but “[n]o amount in excess of one and one-half per cent of the valuation of the…
