There once was an emperor who loved fine apparel more than anything else. He spent all his money on new clothes. One day, two cunning weavers came to town and convinced the emperor that they could make the most beautiful cloth in all the world for him. Not only would this cloth be beautiful, it would also have a certain magical property — it would be invisible to persons who were either unfit for their job or remarkably stupid.
